UGCY promises to be jam packed, melody filled and guaranteed to leave you uplifted and inspired!

The award-winning University Gospel Choir of the Year (UGCY) finals is back for its 8th annual show this spring! A “Sister Act 2-esque” event for the whole family and music lovers will have you up on your feet and singing your way out of the venue. 

University choirs from across the country have submitted their entries and the judges, after much deliberation, have selected the top 9 university Gospel choirs (plus our defending champions London College of Creative Media choir) to battle it out in the hopes of taking home the prestigious UGCY 2018 title.

The returning judges who will preside over who is crowned UGCY 2018 are:

  • Singer and songwriter Stephanie Sounds and Creative/Music Director Ayo 'Ace' Oyerinde

  • Mobo Award winning Gospel Artist Volney Morgan

  • Legendary Record Producer/A&R Manager Les Moir from Integrity Music

  • UGCY resident host Rachel Kerr (MOBO award winner) will also be back to host the show.

The UGCY 2018 finalists are:

  1. Imperial College London – Imperial College Gospel Choir

  2. Nexus Institute of Creative Arts – Nexus Choir

  3. University of Brighton – Sounds of Zion Gospel Choir

  4. University of Cambridge – Cambridge University Gospel Choir

  5. University of Kent – Kent Gospel Choir

  6. University of Manchester – Manchester Harmony Gospel Choir

  7. University of Birmingham - University of Birmingham Gospel Choir

  8. Canterbury Christ Church University - Canterbury Christ Church Gospel Choir

And Returning Defending Champions,  London College of Creative Media (LCCM) Choir!!!
